Our aim is to have each student leave the workshop with knowledge that is relevant to there own personal photographic goals as well as an understanding of the photographic language in general. We teach the basics in a very user friendly way and encourage creativity and experimentation in a positive, open forum.

“Our objective is to inspire a small group of up to twelve students to push their photography skills beyond simple picture taking to picture making. Portrait photography requires not only sensitivity and empathy towards the subject it requires very good camera craft and lighting skills. Depending on the composition of the group. We are happy to extend this into commercial photography, including interior lighting, food and product photography."

Bali-Ubud area

Fri Sept 7th - Thurs Sept 13th, 2012 The workshop will be based in Ubud, the cultural heart of Bali, under the guidance of Kiwi and local resident Dave Metcalf (Dayak Dave) who has travelled all over Bali searching out the best places to photograph and capture the true essence of this tropical paradise.

Just a quick note to thank you for the weekend. I had a lot of fun and cannot believe how much you taught me in a few days :-) I have started re-reading my photography magazines and suddenly I am getting so much more from them because I know more about the subject. I am definitely keen to come back sometime and do another of your courses.
