Buses travel each day between Christchurch and Queenstown. Stopping in Twizel along the way.

About the workshop

Based in Jackie’s studio: 3 Dusky Place, Twizel, New Zealand

This workshop is designed for those who want to have fun playing with hot wax, mixed media, mark-making and fine art printing.

Encaustic Wax is beeswax that is mixed with a hardener called dammar resin.

Photographs Encaustic Techniques include:

• Adhering a matte print to a board then hot wax is layered and fused into the print.

• A digitally reversed photo can be transferred to the surface of a layer of warm wax, the ink from the print remains and the paper is rubbed away.

• A combination of the above with other mixed media and mark making.

Time is spent out in the field making images that suit the process as well as editing images that you already have made and printing them to size.
